Why I need a Quad Core CPU

I Murdered

My laptop.
*mourn…

All because of the frustration I felt when it overheats just after I installed and played Black and White 2.

I wanted to clean the fan.

Opening it up is horrible, fucking lots of screws.
Why can’t they just settle with 4 screws on four sides?

Acer laptops are stupid.
Others can reach the fan easily,
my laptop have to open up everything to see the fan.

Some damage of plastic parts happened, but shouldn’t be a big problem.

Detached the wires carefully as well.

Found the heat sink + fan, very happy cause finally able to see the internal anatomy of my laptop after all these years.

Finally knows why laptops overheat easily when playing games. There’s no fan attached directly on the processor chip or graphics processor chip, they are conducted by the heat sink to the side of a laptop and then only cooled by fan over there.

Cleaned the fan and heat sink. Put everything in, press power on. Nothing happened. Die.

Open up, realised that the ribbon cable connecting to the power button is actually pretty worn. The end of the ribbon cable shows wires coming out of the strip, some even nearly broken. Try to connect back without putting everything in proper place, connect power – can wor. After that put everything properly. Press power. Cannot.

Die.

Tried many stupid things with the ribbon cable, including cutting the worn end and try to make a new end.

Vain attempt.

Even more stupid attempt – to detach the ribbon cable connecting the touchpad to use in the power button. Destroyed the tab holding the cable. T.T Bypass surgery anyone?

Of course it didn’t work.

Declare death at 7.05am.

Cause of death:

  • Severed ribbon cable connecting the power button panel
  • Possibly due to other mortal injuries during murder attempt

Other injuries:

  • Destroyed tab at touchpad
  • Several plastic locking tags broken
  • Broken upper border of DVD-rom plastic frame
  • Broken plastic part of switch of wireless router
  • Possibly other unknown injuries

Should have studied electronics engineering. =.=

Reliance Sucks

More specifically the Netconnect Broadband+ wireless internet.

I’m blogging only for the Rs. 1399 I pay every month, which seems to be very not worth it based on the condition now.

With not more than 10kB/s, loading page is like using the hostel internet, which is FREE! Why am I still paying this fucking Rs. 1399 then?

If you dare to say it’s because of increased amount of user, then I’m going to screw you even more. With more money we pay, aren’t you supposed to use the money to improve the service to accommodate more users?

You think earning money is as easy as putting them into your pocket? We’re Malaysians eh, if like this in Malaysia you chap lap (bankrupt) liao la.

Not to mention that this service is already known for its ridiculous billing. Some of my friends have already experienced its ridiculous type of billing even though they didn’t exceed the monthly bandwidth allowance.

Here are the problems I’m currently experiencing:

  1. Slow speed. Recently. The best speed you can get now is 20kB/s. I’m receiving the connection with 5 bars of signal. 3.1Mbps means 396.8kB/s – it’s not even 10% of the promised speed.
  2. Even slower speed at night. Usually I am crawling at 3-4kB/s at night.
  3. Random billing. For example, one of my friend got billed more than Rs. 10,000. After a call they say they can settle with Rs. 3,000, note that it’s just a call only and the amount dropped like… 3 times? What is this? Having fun with the numbers on the customers’ bill?
  4. Bad customer service. It’s already well known – search for the term “reliance” and “poor service”, you’ll get a lot of results. In my case, when you call more times to complain a problem which has not been solved, they will ignore your call and sometimes even terminate your call. This is true, and has happened to my friends as well.

Reliance, YOU SUCKS. (Adding some more key words so that this post can be easily found: Reliance poor customer service, Reliance ridiculous billing, Reliance netconnect broadband slow speed, Reliance impotent, Reliance cibai)

Oh, and if you are Reliance, do leave a comment and let me tell you how sucks you are.

Improve your service and maintain for like, 6 months and I’ll consider blogging that you’ve improved.
